This season's game was INFINITE RECHARGE™. Post-Kick-off, we formed groups to discuss potential designs for our robot. But then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Through the challenges faced, we ended up building a robot that looked like a venomous snake, so the robot found the name "Cobra."
The Greater Kansas City Regional was a blast to attend. We earned the Creativity Award sponsored by Xerox. For playoffs, we were the first pick of Alliance 4; the alliance captain was Team 3284 Camdenton LASER. Our alliance made it all the way to Semifinal 3 of 4. Ultimately, Team 525 was Rank 7 with a record of 10-6-0.
We were supposed to compete at the Iowa Regional, but the event got cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Infinite Recharge was a collaboration with Lucasfilm, as part of the Star Wars: Force for Change initiative. In this tech-fueled challenge, teams navigate the field, orchestrating their robots to tackle specific tasks that unlock a universe of points. The game centers around a futuristic city theme involving two alliances consisting of three teams each competing to perform various tasks, including shooting foam balls known as Power Cells into high and low goals to activate a Shield Generator, manipulating a Control Panel to activate this shield, and returning to the Shield Generator to park or climb at the end of the match. The objective is to energize and activate the shield before the match ends and asteroids strike FIRST City, a futuristic city modeled after Star Wars.
