State Events
Beyond our Doghouse, we impact people everywhere we meet. Our team participates in various events spanning all across the state of Iowa or farther. At these events, we make sure to spread the joys of robotics and gracious professionalism. Whether it is in the state capitol in Des Moines or our very own town of Cedar Falls Iowa, we are always reaching out to other communities.
Corndog Classic
2/24/24
As a team we work to create an event-like scrimmage where teams are welcome to test out their robots. This year, we had another successful scrimmage with eleven teams from the Midwest attending.

Students had the opportunity to meet with DisTek employees from ___. Swartdogs talked about FIRST Robotics, workgroups they’re part of, projects, and a Q&A.

FTC League Tournament
Our team ran concessions at the last FTC League Tournament for the Georgia O’Keefe League.
Crescendo Kickoff
1/6/24
525 held our local kickoff for experienced and rookie teams alike. We provided the teams in attendance with personalized student-led sessions in programming, awards, scouting and much more!
FTC League Meet
12/30/23
Teammates from our team ran concessions, a robot demo, and field reset. We also partnered with FLL Explore teams while they had their competition and showed them what FTC and FRC had to offer.
New FRC Team Mentor Training

Iowa State Fair
Members headed down to our capital to show visitors what FIRST robotics competition has to offer. We got to interact with people from all over the midwest and answer their questions. Our team also demoed our robot for MidAmerican Energy.
FIRST Championships Conference Presentation

A group of student and adult mentors presented to worldwide attendees about how students are capable of implementing all FIRST programs through student leadership and partnerships with our community.
Corndog Classic Scrimmage

Hosting a precompetition scrimmage was a great way to interact with rookie and veteran Iowa teams. We have held this scrimmage for ___ years.
Charged Up Kickoff

Holding a local kickoff paired with our sessions around topics such as programming, awards, and game strategy was a great way to excite students and mentors alike for the new season!

Having a presence at our local FTC League Meet helps students know what their next step might be in FIRST. It also serves as a fundraising opportunity for us through our concession stand.
Mentor Training

Working with our FIRST regional director, we were able to provide a mentor training class at our buildsite to help other Iowa FRC teams.
STEM Day at Iowa State Fair

By collaborating with other Iowa FRC teams, we are able to put on FIRST display at the Iowa State Fair and interact with thousands of Iowans from politicians to young minds.

We volunteered at a Cedar Falls League Meet and demonstrated our robot for attendees.
Mentor Training Class

We hosted our 5th mentor training class. Mentors who took the class got college credit through UNI and skills needed to run an FRC team.
STEM Day at the Iowa State Fair

We attended the State Fair where we collaborated with other teams to showcase FIRST in Iowa. We’ve attended the event since 2012.
